QMES Conducted a Practical Education Activity for the Faculties at Red Flag Canal in Linzhou City, Henan Province
In order to further study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, promote the implementation of the theme education and further enhance the ideals and beliefs of Party members and cadres, QMES organized faculties to go to Red Flag Canal, an irrigation project built on the steep Taihang Mountains in Linzhou City, Henan Province, carrying out a practical education activity with the theme of “Inheriting the spirit of Red Flag Canal and gathering the strength of endeavors” from July 8th to 10th of 2023.
Wang Xian, former Vice President of the Anyang Party School of CPC, delivered a lecture for teachers with the title of “The Spirit of the Red Flag Canal and Its Epochal Value”, in which he introduced the severity of the drought in Lin County, the difficulty of constructing the Red Flag Canal, and the courage of the people of Lin County in fighting against hardships at that time. He also described the whole process of building the incredible canal in tough times and at dangerous location, by which, faculty of QMES had a preliminary understanding towards the spirit of the Red Flag Canal.
At the Memorial Hall for Red Flag Canal, the faculty had a deep understanding towards the whole construction process of Red Flag Canal from precious items and vivid pictures. When observing the diversion gate of the main canal, teachers felt like coming to the time of building the Red Flag Canal. All of them were moved by the Red Flag Canal spirit, namely “self-reliance, hard work, solidarity and cooperation, and selfless dedication”. They realized the excellent tradition of hard work and tenacity of the Chinese nation, and understood the ideals, beliefs, and unremitting pursuit of contemporary Chinese people.
At the Youth Cave, an important project of the Red Flag Canal, they deeply realized that socialism comes from the collective dedication and hard work of people, and more firmly strengthened their will and determination to continue the struggle for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Led by Dai Fuping, the Secretary of QMES Party Committee, all Party members reviewed the oath of joining the party, which inspired themselves not to forget their original intention of joining the party and bravely shoulder the mission of the times.
At the Memorial Hall for the spirit of Carrying Pole, the faculty of QMES learned the touching stories about the cadres and members of the Shibanyan’s Primary Supply and Marketing Cooperative, whose dedication in serving the people of mountainous areas for many years was learned about by teachers, as well as the the spirit of carrying pole.
Owing to this practical activity, the faculty of QMES received a profound education on party spirit and would vigorously carry forward the spirit and the fine tradition and work style of the CPC members who are not afraid of sacrifice and hard work, earnestly transform the learning results into the practical actions, and continue to promote the high-quality development of QMES and the construction of the first-class university of NPU.
