The Practice Team of QMES Explored New Measures of Rural Revitalization in Western Sichuan
To respond to the call of the new era and strive to be the pioneers of the times, the practice team "Follow the Long March to Sichuan, Explore the Revival of Kham Areas" visited Tibetan Qiang Autonomous Prefecture of Ngawa during August 3-12, with the focus on the social construction, including the development of old revolutionary base areas, local customs and social culture in western Sichuan.
Sanjiang: A town with a slow life
On August 6, 2022, the practice team entered the Sanjiang town to visit the folk demonstration area, and later held an exchanging meeting with relevant leaders and villagers of the town to explore the kiwi fruit industry, rural tourism business model and so on.
The practice team passed through the local Four Good Highways which are "well constructed, maintained, managed and operated", and witnessed the leapfrog progress of Sanjiang's infrastructure. The team members also came to the water village to see the Tibetan living style, enjoy the unique and mysterious ethnic customs and witness the kiwifruit woodland.
Shuimo Ancient Town: Enjoy the tranquility in the breeze
On August 7th, the practice team visited the Shuimo Ancient Town and communicated with relevant leaders of the town on promoting the integration of culture and tourism and creating a "new engine" for rural revitalization.
Niu Hexu, a member of the practice team, shared his feelings that the development concepts of Sichuan, Guangzhou and the cultural customs of Tibet and Qiang are closely connected, and the ancient town shows local people's unremitting efforts to rebuild their homes after the Wenchuan Earthquake.
Aba Teachers University: Embracing the new measure
On August 7th, the practice team visited Aba Teachers University and had a discussion with the director of External Cooperation Department and student representatives on the campus construction and rural revitalization.
Aba Teachers University actively explores the new mode of "university-village cooperation". On the one hand, it provides the opportunity for college students to accumulate experience at the grassroots level. On the other hand, with the help of talents from colleges and universities, a new pattern of villages will be formed. In this way, the innovative development of local culture can be achieved.
Buwa Village: Transformation and upgrading of agriculture
Later, the practice team went to Buwa Village, Weizhou Town, Wenchuan County, to investigate the construction of modern agricultural park. In the standardized orchard construction base, farmers expressed that more than 180 acres of sweet cherry realized the transformation and upgrading of quantity and quality. Thanks to the abundant agriculture technologies, the income of the masses has been increased steadily.
Changde Village, Heishui County: Red tourism promotes local development
On August 10th, the practice team came to Changde Village, Shashiduo Town, Heishui County, and followed the guide to visit the Red Army Culture Square and Red Education Base. After that, the first secretary of Changde Village said that the village aims to provide the standard and high-qualified accommodation services to increase income.
Field talk: Visit the rural revitalization administration
On August 8, the practice team went to therural revitalization administration to carry out a research symposium. At the meeting, the chief engineer introduced measures of poverty alleviation which have been carried out over the past few years.
Finally, the engineer Wen Zong expressed his wish of further cooperation and communication with NPU. He also hoped that the local cultural and tourism industry would get better publicity.
