The Practice Team Retraced the Revolutionary History in Guangdong

Guangzhou is a city of national heroes with “red” heritage. Countless struggle stories converge into the glorious revolutionary history of Guangzhou. To set stage for the 20th National Congress of the CPC and admire the revolutionary spirit, “Live Up To The Times” Practice Team visited the site for Guangzhou Uprising, Zhou Enlai's former residence and three major meeting sites of the CPC from July 12 to 13, 2022.

Retrace the Route of Guangzhou Uprising: Promote the Spirit of Struggle.

Guangzhou Uprising took place on December 11, 1927 when the CPC led workers, farmers and revolutionary soldiers to fight against the Kuomintang reactionaries in Guangzhou. The indomitable fighting spirit of the Chinese Communists equipped the Chinese people with a new inspiration and guided the cause of the Chinese revolution. The team retraced the "Guangzhou Uprising" route in the order of Guangzhou Uprising Memorial Hall, the battle site in Guanyinshan Mountain, Guangzhou Uprising Martyr Cemetery and Guangdong Revolutionary History Museum where the team members were deeply moved by the profound cultural connotation.

Search for the Footprints of Great Ancestors and Spiritual Relics

Zhou Enlai served as the Director of the Political Department of Huangpu Military Academy in the first Kuomintang-Communist Cooperation. In Guangzhou, he and his wife Deng Yingchao became comrades and started their 50-plus years of marriage. The team visited several former residential buildings and commemoration museums to draw strength from our great ancestors.

Follow the Leadership of the Party & Shoulder the Mission of the Times

As one of the early revolutionary sites, Guangzhou has a pivotal position in the history of the CPC. At the time of the centenary of the founding of the Communist Youth League of China and the preparing for the 20th National Congress of the CPC, the team visited the three major meeting sites of the CPC and the old sites of the central organ of the CPC and National Institute of Peasant Movement.

Reflections

Li Ziqian: Guangzhou Uprising is a glorious failure. It is a heroic counterattack of the CPC and the Chinese people against the Kuomintang reactionaries, marking the beginning of the Revolutionary War under the independent leadership of the CPC. When we review the history, we should always keep in mind the revolutionary enthusiasm and learn to forge ahead with determination.

Hui Weihang: we should not forget the past difficult years, and then live up to the great dream of the future. Take history as a mirror and move forward with courage. We should take concrete action to meet the Party's expectations, and inherit and carry forward the great spirit.
