The Social Practice Activities of the Practice Team of QMES Came to a Successful Conclusion

On February 20, 2022, the Beijing Winter Olympics came to a successful conclusion. China, through its own strength and responsibility, presented a simple and safe Olympic event to the world! Today, with the global COVID-19 epidemic raging, the successful hosting of the Winter Olympics has demonstrated the strength of China to the world and also profoundly interpreted the Olympic spirit of “more united”.

During the Beijing Winter Olympics, Mr. Bach, President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), has praised the outstanding performance of Chinese young volunteers for many times. In order to further understand the wonderful stories of volunteers in the Winter Olympics, students from QMES, NPU formed a social practice team to deeply learn the exemplary power of volunteers in the Beijing Winter Olympics through online research and discussion, so as to enhance the sense of historical responsibility and mission of youth league members.

Study the centennial development history of the Communist Youth League and comprehend the struggling spirit of the youth

On February 6, the members of the practice team collectively studied the centennial development history of the Communist Youth League, and reviewed the stories of aspiring young people actively learning Marxist Thought, fighting against reactionary forces, and exploring new ways to save the nation.After the study, Liu Zhening from the practice team systematically summarized what he had learned, wrote the learning experience, and introduced in detail the four stages experienced by the Communist Youth League since its establishment.

Issue a questionnaire on volunteer service for the Winter Olympics and explore the volunteer spirit of the youth

In order to further study the spirit of young volunteers, the practice team issued a questionnaire on the youth’s awareness of the Winter Olympics and their enthusiasm for participating in volunteer services, and popularized the knowledge of volunteer service and promoted the spirit of volunteer service through short-video publicity and news releases.In the process of deepening and promoting volunteer service, how to motivate students to participate in volunteer service was the main problem.

During the Beijing Winter Olympics, members of the practice team watched the opening and closing ceremonies as well as wonderful events, and jointly shared the experience of the outstanding performance of the Olympic athletes.

Carry out voluntary exchanges among the youth and learn from young pioneers of the Winter Olympics

Through active communication and coordination, members of the practice team of QMES successfully contacted the volunteers from the International School of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications and the members of the practice team of Beihang University to participate in the Youth Volunteer Exchange Meeting of the Winter Olympics.Jiang Yue and Wang Zilong from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications as well as Jiang Yufei and Gao Wanting from Beihang University shared their experience on how to tell Chinese stories well with practical actions and let the world know more about China’s mission.Subsequently, volunteers of the 14th National Games, Paralympic Games, and epidemic prevention and control of NPU shared their experience of volunteer service.

Conclusion

In this social practice, the members deeply realized the enthusiasm of Chinese youth to convey the spirit of Olympic Games and volunteer service, and also felt the strong sense of responsibility and mission of the Communist Youth League of China and aspiring youth in China. The youth of the times will make persistent efforts, shoulder the important task of building their motherland and contribute their vigorous strength to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
