The Ideological and Political Course of the Leaders of QMES— Youth Representative Symposium Was Held Successfully

On October 9, 2022, the ideological and political course of the leaders of QMES and youth representative symposium with the theme of “China’s Decade, Our Decade” was passed off successfully. Dai Fuping, Secretary of the Party Committee of QMES, gave a special ideological and political course to all of the students of Class QM012206 and students backbone of the League Committee and the Student Union of QMES. Student representatives Gao Zike, Li Ziqian and Ye Yaowen gave special speeches. Huang Quanzhang, Secretary of the Youth League Committee of QMES, and Shizhao Xiaohan, student representative, presided over the symposium.

Dai Fuping pointed out the development direction for students from four aspects of “political discernment ability”, “learning ability”, “innovation and creativity capability” and “global competence”. He said that Chinese students are now in a prosperous era, which give us strength and confidence to look at the world. He hoped that students could adapt to the life of NPU as soon as possible and encouraged them to work hard and improve their independent learning ability and teamwork ability.

He noted that QMES strives to build a community for teachers and students, and hopes that students will make full use of the advantages of Sino-foreign cooperative education, integrate traditional education concepts with international education style to enrich themselves and realize their value of life. When it came to innovation and creativity ability, he emphasized that students should be diligent in thinking, put their ideas into practice, and cultivate their innovation and creativity ability in various activities. He really hoped that students would continue to improve their global competence by using the advantageous platform of Sino-foreign cooperative education. He encouraged them to pay attention to current affairs, understand and appreciate different cultures to improve their political discernment ability, learning ability, innovation and creativity capability and global competence, so as to develop themselves in an all-round aspects and become vigorous youth of the new era.

In order to improve the students’ ideological and political literacy, Dai Fuping presented the bookStories in Xi Jinping’s Speechesto student representatives, hoping that they would continue to improve themselves through learning advanced deeds.

Student representatives Ye Yaowen, Gao Zike and Li Ziqian shared their views on the concept of “Chinese Dream” and gave special speeches on poverty alleviation spirit, Beidou spirit in the new era and the spirit of combating COVID-19 of China. Based on his own experience, Ye Yaowen saw the remarkable achievements of China’s poverty alleviation from the great changes in small counties and towns. He suggested that students should actively learn the spirit of poverty alleviation to work hard and contribute to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Gao Zike told the story of 26 years of struggle of Beidou Group. Each person of the group worked hard day and night to overcome difficulties, and finally succeeded in making the domestic self-developed satellite navigation system. She advocated that students should inherit the spirit of Beidou Group to overcome hardships and pursue their ideals. Li Ziqian started from anti-epidemic stories in recent years to talk about China’s responsibility as a world power and China’s outstanding contributions in fighting against COVID-19 in the world. She encouraged students to actively participate in volunteer service activities, learn the spirit of perseverance in fighting the epidemic, and assist teachers to maintain the order of campus during the epidemic prevention and control period.

Finally, student representative Shizhao Xiaohan said that students in the new era should study and understand the profound connotation of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches on these three kinds of spirit, and make full use of the advantages of Sino-foreign cooperative education to develop themselves comprehensively.

After the symposium, students realized that they should work hard to pursue all-round development, and consciously link their personal ideals with the future and destiny of the country, and take practical actions to welcome the 20th CPC National Congress.
