YPLC2021 – Young Persons’ Lecture Competition 2021
Every year the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IoM3) holds a young persons' lecture competition. This year QMES will be the host of the national round of the competition. The top three winners will be given cash prizes and certificates.
More importantly, the overall winner of the national round will go on to compete in the world finals. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your talent. If you win either the local or the international competitions you will have a real achievement which will separate you from the competition when you apply for a job or a place in a prestigious university in the future. QMES would encourage all students to consider entering the competition; even entering will give you something else to write on your CV.
More information can be found herehttps://www.iom3.org/events-awards/competitions/yplc.html
Details of the judging criteria can be found herehttps://www.iom3.org/resource/judging-criteria-penalties.html
You can register herehttps://www.iom3.org/events-awards/competitions/ypwlc/2021-ypwlc-national-finals.html
The date for the local competition is the 8th of April. QMES would encourage you to think of a topic to talk (examples of past winners are on the website) and start drafting your abstract and register ASAP. We may have to limit the number of contestants if we get too many applicants.
