QMES Students Won the Outstanding Award in the 19th “AAMS Cup” University Students Extracurricular Academic and Scientific Works Competition

On March 26th, the 19th Northwestern Polytechnical University "AAMS Cup" University Students Extracurricular Academic and Scientific Works Competition came to a successful conclusion. A total of 23 projects from QMES were awarded. Among them, Yuan Chuhan and her classmates’ project "Guangfu Tongchuang - the Pioneer of Self-generated Intelligent Glass Energy-saving Industry" won the outstanding award. "Study on the Fluorescence Properties of Linear Polysiloxane Based on Disulfide Bonds" by Li Chujia and her classmates, "Research on the Psychological Condition of Domestic University Students under the Influence of COVID-19 Epidemic and Intervention Countermeasures" by Xiao Weirong and "Aoxiang 3D Technology - Advanced Ceramic Turbine Blade Research and Development and 3D Printing Customization Service Provider" by Zhang Yuxiang etc were awarded the First Prize respectively. 4 projects hosted by Zhang Yu, Zhu Chaokai, Feng Zhuoya and Yu Chuan were awarded the Second Prize, and the Third Prize was awarded to 15 other projects.

Launched in October 2020, the competition lasted for five months and divided into three stages: the school preliminary competition, the university semi-final competition and the final competition. More than 400 projects from the university participated, and a total of 242 projects were awarded, including 14 outstanding awards, 21 first prizes, 58 second prizes and 149 third prizes. QMES recommended a total of 42 projects to participate in the university-level semi-finals, including 31 projects in innovation, 7 works in entrepreneurship, and 4 works in public welfare. The number of projects tied the first place on the university level, and the number of applicants reached a new high. The number of awards was also among the highest in the university. Among them, the outstanding award, the first prize and the second prize accounted for 7.1%, 14.3% and 6.9% of the corresponding awards in the "AAMS Cup" Science and Technology Competition Respectively. The excellent achievement fully reflects the good effect of scientific research and education of the school, and also reflects the good style of QMES students who are active in innovation and strive for success.

The NPU “AAMS Cup” University Students Extracurricular Academic and Scientific Works Competition is a traditional student science and technology activity of the university, which plays a very important role in cultivating students' entrepreneurial consciousness, innovative spirit and creativity. QMES attaches great importance to this "AAMS Cup" science and technology competition, and held various experience-sharing sessions on innovation and entrepreneurship projects, explored key innovation and entrepreneurship projects, and held training sessions and other activities to provide technical guidance and consultation for the participating projects, so as to ensure the excellent achievement of the projects.
