QMES Successfully Organized a Tutorial Lecture for Challenge Cup and “Internet +” Competition

QMES successfully organized a tutorial lecture for the upcoming Challenge Cup and “Internet +” Competition on April 14, 2023 in the lecture hall on the second floor of East Teaching Building A, Chang’an Campus to solve problems of projects, improve the core competitiveness of projects, and make full preparation for the competition. Yang Bo, co-founder of Beijing Cloud Network Technology Co., Ltd. and expert member of the China College Students’ “Internet+” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition of the Ministry of Education, was invited to participate in this lecture. Huang Quanzhang, Secretary of the Youth League Committee of QMES, and core members of projects from freshman to junior participated in the lecture.

Yang Bo gave this lecture from five dimensions. He emphasized strategic thinking, gave a detailed analysis of the policies of China and the Ministry of Education, and pointed out the common problems of projects and the methods to develop core competitiveness. According to the guidance of the spirit of the “20th National Congress of CPC”, he gave three keywords “education, science and technology, talents” and predicted the focus of the competition of this year. First, the Challenge Cup and “Internet +” competition should be student-led. The person in charge of the project has the right to make decisions on the project. It is strictly forbidden to directly copy the results of the school or teachers. Second, much attention should be paid to the importance of absolute financial rights, ensure that all work is implemented pragmatically, and have a clear financial account. The validity and reliability of the project are the top priority for winning the competition. Third, ensure independent operational rights, the person in charge must have the ability to make decisions and manage production and operation.

Subsequently, he put forward several guiding opinions for the teams participating in the innovation and entrepreneurship competition. First, instead of focusing on pure elaboration, the meaning of the project is “what should do”. It means that much attention should be paid to how to solve the problems of the current stage and how to achieve the future development planning. Second, he said , “to move forward by standing on the shoulders of the giants” is the original intention of the innovation and entrepreneurship competition. Connect universities and employment, invention and output. It is important for students to achieve phased results through invention and creation with the strong hardware and software support of the school. Third, he emphasized two major directions of innovation and entrepreneurial paths. He highlighted three cores, including highlighting technology through patents, building innovation point through the business model, attaching the same importance to economic benefits and social benefits. He also answered questions about financial problems, registered capital, financing equity, and PPT presentation. His seven-character guidance of “complete, meticulous, concise, accurate, faithful, reliable, and emotional” has greatly benefited members of the projects.

Finally, he gave “one-on-one” counseling on projects “Long-endurance UAV Energy System”, “New Anti-corrosion Amorphous Coating for Marine Engineering”, “New Temperature Differential Power Generation Regenerative Braking Device”, “WAM—Pioneer of Offshore Wind Power Absorbing Coating”, “Long Lasting Static Ocean Antifouling Coating” and other projects. He pointed out problems and gave suggestions in a targeted manner, achieving the goal of correcting weaknesses, strengthening advantages and improving the core competitiveness of projects.

The lecture pointed out the direction for the teams of participating in innovation and entrepreneurship competition, optimized the project objectives, and enabled project members to have a deeper understanding of the innovation and entrepreneurship competition. It is hoped that under the guidance of Mr. Yang Bo, the various projects of QMES can achieve excellent results in innovation and entrepreneurship competitions such as the Challenge Cup and the “Internet +” competition, shine on the road of innovation, and have a bright future on the road of entrepreneurship!
