QMES Held an Activity to Watch the Opening Ceremony of the 20th CPC National Congress

On Oct 16, 2022, the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) solemnly opened at 10 a.m. at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. It is a very important congress held at a crucial moment when the whole Party and the people of all ethnic groups embark on a new journey to fully build a modern socialist country and march toward the second centenary goal. QMES Party Committee attached great importance to the congress, and organized school leaders, members of the Theoretical Learning Center of the Party Committee, and representatives of the four Party branches with the integration of teachers and students to watch the opening ceremony of the 20th National Congress of the CPC in the Lecture Hall 410, East Teaching Building A. A report themed “Hold High the Great Banner of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics and Strive in Unity to Build a Modern Socialist Country in All Respects and Promote the Great Rejuvenation of the Chinese Nation” was delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping, which was studied by all participants.

The past five years since the 19th CPC National Congress have been truly momentous and extraordinary. Over the past five years, the CPC Central Committee, with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, has effectively coped with the grave and complex international situation and a series of major risks and challenges, stuck to innovation, dared to fight and been good at fighting, united and led the Chinese people in realizing the first centenary goal, embarking on a new journey of fully building a modern socialist country, and marching toward the second centenary Goal. The report delivered by Xi was lofty, rich in connotation and inspiring. When watching the opening session, the teachers, students and other staff members of the school were full of enthusiasm and concentration, who listened to the report and took notes attentively, and responded to the wonderful report with warm applause from time to time.

In order to better understand and implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, the school also organized student Party members and Communist Youth League members to watch the opening ceremony at the QMES Ideological and Political Education Experience Classroom, Conference Room 413, Haitianyuan Student Community and other places through various forms, including TV and Internet.

At the same time, all Party branches of the school organized student Party members and probationary Party members to watch the opening ceremony of the 20th CPC National Congress at their dormitories.

After the opening session, the teachers and students of the school actively launched hot discussions, talking about their learning experience and understanding. They expressed that the report contains profound connotation with the strength of cohesion and motivation, and is in accordance with the requirements of the New era and people’s new anticipation. The report also puts forward a comprehensive, strategic and forward-looking action program, which is a declaration, like a compass for the Party to unite and lead the people of all ethnic groups to continue to march forward bravely in the new era.

Confronted with major changes in the world unseen in a century, we must always closely follow the CPC Central Committee, with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, in thinking, stance, and action, guide our actions and promote our work by the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress. The Party has established Comrade Xi Jinping’s core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole, and has defined the guiding role of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the significance of which requires our in-depth understanding. We should continue to strengthen our consciousness of the need to maintain political integrity, think in big-picture terms, follow the leadership core, and keep in alignment with the central Party leadership; enhance our confidence in the path, theory, system and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and uphold Xi's core position on the CPC Central Committee and in the Party as a whole as well as the Central Committee’s authority and its centralized, unified leadership. Meanwhile, we should be firm in our ideals, work hard with one heart and mind, forge ahead bravely, fulfill our responsibilities with high enthusiasm, and contribute to the construction of NPU’s Double First-class Construction.
