The Fourth Party Branch of QMES Held a Thematic Party Day

On September 23, 2022, the Fourth Party Branch with the integration of teachers and students held a Party activity themed “Set the Stage for the 20th National Congress of the CPC, Promote the spirit of scientists” in the Scientists Museum of Xi’an. Dai Fuping, Secretary of QMES Party Committee; Liu Jia, the Secretary of the QMES Fourth Party Branch; Yang Yufei, Jing Tingting, Tong Miaomiao and student Party members participated the activity.

The staff first gave an overview of the museum. The Scientists Museum of Xi’an is the first one in the western region of China to display scientific and technological achievements and promote the spirit of scientists. Under the guidance of an intelligent robot, the students understood the hardships and struggles of Chinese scientists since the founding of New China, admired the charms of 69 academicians from Xi’an, and reviewed the main scientific research achievements, including BeiDou Navigation Satellite System, China Space Station, ShenZhou Crewed Spacecraft, Chang’e (China’s Lunar Exploration Project), Long March Launch Vehicle, Jiao Long, Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope, which fully demonstrate the strong and comprehensive national strength of China.

Coming to the section of Science Tribe, the students operated some technology products, such as Brainwave Flash, drone model and tank model, which stimulated their learning enthusiasm and exploratory spirit.

Subsequently, Dr. Liu Zhuang, Technical Director of Xi’an UPM Technologies, Inc., delivered an interesting science report on “The Development of Photovoltaic Materials” to the participants. Thanks to Dr. Liu’s vivid explanation, the students learnt the components, development status and great potential of photovoltaic materials in the market application, and had an in-depth exchange and discussion with Dr. Liu on light pollution and other issues.

After the lecture, the Party branch held an oath ceremony for the new Party members, and the veteran members reviewed their vows. In the solemn atmosphere of the museum where the passionate oath of all the Party branch members resounded, the Party day came to an end. All the teachers and students of the Party branch will inherit and carry forward the scientific spirit of the older generation of scientists, namely, patriotism, dedication, practical, innovation, and collaboration, serve the country by dint of science and technology, embrace the frontiers of global science and technology, satisfy the major needs of the country with innovative and practical actions, so as to prepare for the 20th National Congress of the CPC.
