QMES Held 2022 Freshman Course Selection Guidance Meeting

In order to help 2022 freshmen rationally design their study plans and make full use of teaching resources, QMES organized an online course selection guidance meeting for 2022 cohort undergraduates on the evening of August 28, 2022. Fan Xiaoli, Dean of QMES, Dai Fuping, Party Secretary of QMES, Cheng Yin, Vice Dean of QMES, Yang Ye, Director of the Teaching Affairs Office of QMES, Huang Quanzhang, Director of the Student Affairs Office of QMES, Qi Yue, Teaching Director of Queen Mary University of London(QMUL), Liu Kejia, Teaching Secretary of Undergraduates and all 2022 cohort undergraduate head teachers attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Yuan Menglei, 2022 freshman counselor of QMES.

First of all, Fan Xiaoli extended warm welcome and congratulations to freshmen of 2022 on behalf of teachers and students of QMES. She introduced the development history, school-running philosophy, advantages of the subjects and education goals of QMES. She also talked about the two majors of Polymer Materials Science and Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering of QMES, including module system, education plan, academic system and degree awarding. She hoped that students can make full use of the advantageous educational resources and scientific research platforms of both sides to become inter-disciplinary and innovative talents with international vision, strong professional competitiveness, high comprehensive quality and with the ability to study, work and learn for life across borders.

Later, Liu Kejia explained the education plan and course selection process of QMES to the 2022 freshmen. She talked about the characteristics of the courses and the requirements of each course module of QMES to students so that the freshmen could better use the course selection system. Qi Yue introduced the regulations on student registration, account usage, course management of QMUL to help students familiarize themselves with the relevant precautions of courses as soon as possible.

The meeting will effectively promote freshmen to familiarize themselves with the education plan of QMES as soon as possible and help them make plans for their studies scientifically and successfully complete the course selection work for the new semester.
