The Theme Activity of Learning the Spirit of Lei Feng in QMES was Successfully Held

In order to further study and carry forward the Spirit of Lei Feng, guide young volunteers’ activities with the Spirit of Lei Feng, and present a gift for the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Youth League, the theme activity of learning the Spirit of Lei Feng organized by the Youth League Committee and the Student Union of QMES, NPU was successfully held in March 2022.

The theme activity of learning from Lei Feng was mainly composed of the launching ceremony and a series of voluntary service activities with the characteristics of learning from Lei Feng.On the afternoon of March 13, the launching ceremony of the theme activity of the Spirit of Lei Feng was held online.First of all, the host Liu Zhening introduced the specific content and participation methods of the event to the participants.Afterwards, several key volunteers including Song Jingyi and Jiao Tian’ao shared their experience during the epidemic prevention and control as well as their volunteer service for the 14th National Games from different perspectives, showing the students what “the Spirit of Lei Feng” meant with practical actions.Finally, Mr. Huang Quanzhang, Secretary of the Youth League Committee of QMES, said that the Spirit of Lei Feng was the accumulation of the traditional virtues of the Chinese nation, the spirit of putting one’s limited life into unlimited service for the people, the spirit of hard struggle based on one’s own work, and the spirit of keeping pace with the times.He hoped that the majority of students would earnestly study the Spirit of Lei Feng and always learn new things with perseverance.

Next, under the organization of the Student Union of QMES, the volunteers successively carried out diversified characteristic activities of learning from Lei Feng. A total of 32 voluntary activities were held, and 37 students signed up to participate, with a total of 263 hours of volunteer service.These activities mainly included: cleaning of classrooms, warehouses and Qi Zhen Community in the office building, cleaning and cultural display of dormitory, logistics experience of Haitianyuan Canteen, and working experience of apartment building management.The students actively signed up, always adhered to their respective positions, and practiced the Spirit of Lei Feng with practical actions and enthusiastic service.Fu Jinghao, Tan Zhi, Qiu Huantian, Feng Wang Jianyang and other students went to the Haitian Canteen on time to assist the staff in maintaining the dining order;and Wang Zijian and Jiang Zixin were also praised by the apartment building management for their excellent work.The volunteers actively practiced the spirit of voluntary service and assisted the logistics staff to better complete the work with hard-working and uncomplaining service attitude, which has been highly praised by the manager of Haitianyuan Canteen and the leaders of logistics department.

In the theme activity of learning from the Spirit of Lei Feng, all the volunteers were active and responsible.11 students including Tan Zhi and Huang Zhengxuan were awarded the title of “Excellent Volunteers for Learning from Lei Feng”, and dormitory B241 of Yuntianyuan was awarded the title of “Excellent Dormitory for Learning from Lei Feng”.This activity aroused the enthusiasm of the majority of students of QMES for voluntary service and triggered a wave of learning from the Spirit of Lei Feng among them. In the next work, QMES will continue to carry out youth volunteer service activities, so that the Spirit of Lei Feng can be passed on from generation to generation and the youthful power of the students from QMES can be shown with actions!
