QMES Organized Students to Visit the Science and Technology on Thermostructural Composite Materials Laboratory

On April 17th, 2021, a total of 41 students of cohort 2020 from Class 4 and Class 5 majoring in Material Science and Engineering of QMES visited the Science and Technology on Thermostructural Composite Materials Laboratory under the leadership of head teachers Miss Xue Jimei and Mr. Zheng Ce.

First, Mr. Zheng Ce introduced the basic situation of the Science and Technology on Thermostructural Composite Materials Laboratory. With the long history, the laboratory attracted many talents and experts, continuously achieving fruitful scientific research results in recent years. Mr. Zheng used vivid metaphors to help students understand abstract and complex theories, stimulating students' enthusiasm for obtaining new knowledge on materials.

During the visit, seniors of the laboratory introduced the cutting-edge scientific research equipment and high-quality scientific research environment in details. At the same time, they also explained how to make samples of the required materials in the laboratory and actively interacted with the students. All the students had the clearer understanding of the laboratory teaching, scientific research and operation, experiencing the spirit of striving of researchers.

The visit was a concrete attempt to cultivate the scientific research spirit of freshmen of QMES. The students cherished the activity and developed strong interests in scientific research practice. They actively consulted their teachers about SIT and other related scientific research activities. The visit laid a good foundation for the freshman to develop capacities to carry out professional learning, innovation and entrepreneurship and scientific research activities.
