Online PhD Summer Workshops was Successfully Held

From July 15 to 17, 2020, the online PhD summer workshops of NPU-QMUL Joint Research Institute for Advanced Materials and Structures (JRI) was successfully held by School of Materials Science and Engineering, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, and School of Mechanical Engineering, and QMES of NPU with the support of Office of International Cooperation. More than twenty professors and nearly thirty PhD students from NPU and QMUL attended the conference and delivered presentations.

This is the fourth PhD summer workshop of JRI. Due to the impact of COVID-19, the workshop was held online. The workshops covered a wide range of professional fields, including 5 parallel forums with 46 academic presentations, and attracted nearly 200 faculty members and students from NPU and QMUL to attend online.

During the online workshops, teachers and students from both universities spoke freely and interacted actively, sharing their personal research results and broadening their research ideas. The workshops strengthened communication and cooperation among the faculty members of the two universities, further enhanced the internationalization ability of NPU’s PhD students. It provided a foundation to deepen and broaden research cooperation between the two universities.
