Visitors from Xi’an Jiaotong University Came to QMES for Investigation

On the morning of November 10, 2020, Lei Yanjun, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Office and Fang Yu, Deputy Dean of the School of Pharmacy, Health Science Center of Xi’an Jiaotong University with other 36 visitors came to QMES for investigation. Dean Kong Jie, and Vice Dean Cheng Yin of QMES, Deputy Director Chen Jun of the International Cooperation Office and leaders from relevant schools attended the meeting. The meeting was held in the Lecture Hall A410 and chaired by Vice Dean Cheng Yin.

Dean Kong Jie first extended a warm welcome to the guests and gave a comprehensive introduction to the founding background, education concept, student work, Party building, enrollment, teaching operation, management system and development scheme of QMES. Then, Deputy Director Lei Yanjun introduced the establishment background, professional settings and development status of Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University.

The two parties conducted in-depth discussions on the management experience, teaching operation, and personnel affairs of QMES. The construction of teaching team and curriculum system as well as student exchanges abroad were also mentioned in the meeting. Deputy Director Lei Yanjun said that QMES had formed a sound management model and a distinctive talent training system, providing many references for Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University in the future work.

Afterwards, both parties held group discussions and small seminars, sharing the difficulties and questions encountered in the operation of Chinese-foreign cooperative education. Deputy Director Lei Yanjun expressed her gratitude to the staff of QMES. She hoped that Northwestern Polytechnical University and Xi'an Jiaotong University would strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the field of Chinese-foreign cooperative education. Dean Kong Jie expressed that he looked forward to further exchanges with colleagues from Xi’an Jiaotong University. Both universities could provide suggestions for the development of Chinese-foreign cooperative education and promote the development of higher education in Shaanxi Province.

After the meeting, the guests visited the one-stop service hall, common room, full-English innovation lab, the lecture hall and Internet intelligent classroom of QMES.
