QMES Visited Chinese-foreign Cooperative Schools of Higher Education in Beijing
On March 5, 2023, a group of 11 people, including Fan Xiaoli, Dean of QMES, Dai Fuping, Secretary of the QMES Party Committee, Cheng Yin, Vice Dean of QMES, Zhou Yongcun, Assistant to the Dean of QMES, etc., went to Paris Curie Engineer School at Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Beijing-Dublin International College at Beijing University of Technology, and International School at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications for investigation and exchange, so as to further study and implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, promote the strategy of strengthening the country and universities with talents in the new era, facilitate the action plan of cultivating first-class undergraduate talents, and boost the school’s high-quality development in talent training.
On the morning of March 6th, Dean and Party Secretary Qin Peiyong, Vice Dean Hou Hong and Party Organizer Jin Wanwan of Paris Curie Engineer School of BUCT, received the group and held a symposium at the Conference Center. Qin Peiyong warmly welcomed the visitors from QMES, and Fan Xiaoli, on behalf of QMES, appreciated Qin Peiyong and his colleagues for their warm reception. Representatives from both sides exchanged views on school operation, student development, faculty management, enrollment, etc., and discussed many topics enthusiastically, covering how to promote the internationalization of talent training, mechanism and form of joint education with foreign universities, discipline construction, faculty building, Party and leagues construction for students and so on. Through this research, it was hoped to get new ideas for the more effective operation of QMES’ all sorts of work.
On the afternoon of March 6th, Party Secretary Yang Qing, Deputy Party Secretary and Dean Wu Wenying, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice Dean Liu Jinchao of Beijing-Dublin International College at Beijing University of Technology held a symposium at the Conference Room 818. Wu Wenying illustrated the hardships and progress of Chinese-foreign cooperative education in the past ten years and shared achievements made in practice since the establishment of the institute. In the discussion part, the two sides discussed personnel training mode, teaching and curriculum system, student practice, construction of school-enterprise cooperation platform, staff management and work planning, and the building of a sound educational, teaching and cultural environment. Fan Xiaoli, on behalf of QMES, thanked Wu Wenying and her colleagues for their warm reception and sharing. The survey not only promoted communication between the two sides, but also broadened the horizon and provided enlightenment in running school.
On March 7th, Dean Guo Li, Deputy Party Secretary Xu Qionglai, Vice Dean Ma Zhanyu, and Vice Dean Gao Peng of the International School at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications received the delegation of QMES. At the symposium, the two sides discussed in depth the cooperation with QMUL in the aspects of student innovation and entrepreneurship, the overseas study of graduates, the introduction of teachers, the return of foreign teachers, curriculum and quality supervision, the construction of alumni platforms, and the management of the overseas graduates for their Party organizations relationship. In the end, Guo Li, as a representative, hoped that the two schools could continue keeping close contact and strengthen the communication among the Chinese-foreign cooperative educational institutes in higher education. Dai Fuping expressed that the two sides could learn from each other’s beneficial practices and experience, and make joint efforts to improve the level of Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools, so as to continuously make progress in nurturing international comprehensive innovative talents.
Owing to this activity, QMES has further strengthened the exchange with the other Chinese-foreign cooperative educational institutes and learned from their advanced experience in running school. Based on the specific condition, QMES will sort out the position responsibilities, optimize various work programs, and constantly improve the quality of talent training. QMES will make unremitting efforts to build an international platform with high-quality education resources, and contribute to the “double first-class” initiative of NPU and educational opening-up.
