Graceful Words Flourish Unceasingly | Tri-college Joint Freshman Welcome Evening Party Successfully Concluded

Recently, the theme freshmen welcome party “Graceful Words Flourish Unceasingly”, jointly organized by QMES, the School of Foreign Studies, and the School of Ecology and Environment, was grandly held at the Soaring Student Center. Dai Fuping, Secretary of the QMES Party committee, Cheng Yin, Deputy Secretary of the QMES Party Committee, Huang Quanzhang, Secretary of the Youth League Committee of QMES, representatives of Chinese and British teachers, as well as teachers including Wang Gaozu, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Foreign Studies, Ma Ying, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Foreign Studies, Wu Ruilin, Secretary of the Youth League Committee of the School of Foreign Studies, Zhang Yongxin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Ecology and Environment, and freshmen in grade 2023 of the three colleges, attended the party.

Accompanied by the familiar phrase “Are you ready?”, everyone seemed to enter a mesmerizing fairy tale world, surrounded by dazzling lights and passionate dances. The long-awaited freshman welcome party was kicked off by the opening dance performed by students from Class 6 majoring in Materials of the 2023 cohort of QMES.

Next, Student Baby Power Hip Hop Club brought the dance “The Best Friend Is the Most Shining” to the stage, which intensified the atmosphere to a climax. Their powerful and confident moves showcased the boundless vitality and passion of university students, igniting the atmosphere and allowing the audience to fully enjoy this youthful carnival!

After experiencing the passion and vitality brought by the dance, the audience was once again drawn into the enchanting world of music with a performance of “Flowing Sands” by Hu Anbo. This song was like a cup of mellow coffee, with a sweet aftertaste that lingered. With his warm vocals, he expressed the deep emotions within the song, creating a captivating musical tableau. The audience, as if they were embarking on a heartwarming musical journey, found themselves immersed in each note, which shone like a sparkling star, illuminating the evening sky of the event.

The “Silk Road Dance” performance, a traditional ethnic dance from Xinjiang, presented by students such as Nuerbiyamu and Guzailinuer, transported audiences to the ancient and enigmatic land. The dancers’ nimble steps, synchronized with the rhythmic melodies, carried everyone on a mesmerizing voyage through the annals of history, granting us a profound experience of the captivating beauty and allure of the fabled Silk Road.

Cross talk, like a feast of the language arts on stage, is a traditional Chinese comedic performance. The actors from the Yuexiang Crosstalk Club of the University Art Troupe presented a hilarious skit called “Even the dog swaggers when its master wins favour”. With their brilliant eloquence and humorous language, they allowed the audience to release stress and forget their troubles through laughter.

Tian Jiaqi and Liu Pengyu delivered a rap performance titled “Heaven on Earth”, showcasing their passion for music and conveying a positive energy to the audience. Their rap performance opened up a world of limitless possibilities, showcasing the transformative power of music.

Immediately following this, the collective performance of a K-POP dance medley by the three colleges captivated the entire audience. With each movement and jump, the performers demonstrated their abundant vitality and energy, earning resounding cheers from everyone in attendance.

The Jiuxianyin Drama Team presented the creatively inspired musical, “You Will Be Found”, which was relatable and thought-provoking. The simple yet powerful line “You will be found” in the musical became the core of the entire story, imparting an unbreakable belief and the courage to overcome difficulties when facing adversity.

The dance “Love is Desperate” presented by the Jiuxianyin Dance Team gave the whole stage a youthful atmosphere.

The Jiuxianyin Vocal Ensemble Team presented the song “Unrequited Love is a Solo Affair”, with lyrics that include, “You have been residing in my diary all year round, and it’s you who I can’t even spare a glance for. Unrequited love is a solitary matter; everyone except you knows this secret”. The hidden heartbeats and small expectations deep inside struck a chord with the live audience.

Following this, the performance of the dance “Peach Blossom Letter” by Liu Yuluan showcased the unique charm of Chinese classical dance art. Her graceful and delicate movements, at times gazing affectionately at the letter and at other times looking into the distance, seamlessly integrated emotional expression with exquisite dance moves, allowing the audience to be fully immersed in the experience.

The martial arts-themed fashion show “Dance of Heaven Sword”, brought to the stage by students including Yuan Yixuan, immersed their peers in a world of ancient Chinese chivalry. Crossing through time and space, they portrayed different characters, exuding the allure of martial arts.

Meng Yuhui enchanted the audience with her performance of the song “Nuan Nuan”, transporting them to a world as sweet as the beginning, soothing their hearts and leaving them captivated.

Jiuxianyin Dance Team danced “Girlfriends”, their dance was mixed with the atmosphere of the times. The exuberance of youth blossomed on stage, and the enchantment of life was gracefully expressed.

Xue Huiwen and Zhang Yahan presented the song “Wings of My Words”, where every melody resonated deeply within our hearts, offering a gentle yet powerful force, inspiration amidst sorrow, and faith during adversity, motivating us to continue moving forward.

The BBox & Rap Band of Jiuxianyin Art Troupe showed their exceptional artistic talent with the song “Just a Little Bit”, which once again drove the atmosphere of the scene, and the mellifluous songs floated over the Soaring Student Centre.

The finale of the evening unfolded as the School of Ecology and Environment presented their song “New Boy” in a magnificent ensemble performance by all the cast members.

During the evening party, there were also three rounds of QR code lucky draw sessions, which greatly boosted the emotions of the live audience and enlivened the atmosphere. The lucky winners who received prizes also shared their sentiments with the crowd.

As the rhythm of the carnival gradually stopped and the brilliant fireworks dispersed, a spectacular freshman welcome party drew to a close amidst laughter and applause. Each performer was a star on stage, illuminating the entire evening with their unique talents and passion. They were like shining stars, bringing joy and emotion to all of us. The end of the party is not the finish line, but a new starting point. In the new academic year, let us continue to work hard, pursue our dreams, and use our actions to write a wonderful chapter of our own!
