There is no end to progress —— Documentary on the Undergraduate Cognition Practice of the Classes of 2021 and 2022 of QMES

From September 4 to 10, 2023, QMES organized 434 undergraduates from the classes of 2021 and 2022 to attend a one-week cognition practice at Zhihui Port in Taicang, so as to help students broaden their horizons, expand their thinking, understand the development and frontier needs of the engineering industry, cultivate the spirit of exploration and innovation ability, and achieve the "combination of learning and application, knowledge and practice". The internship, led by Vice Dean Cheng Yin, covered various visits to enterprises, fields and workshops, and urban planning and engineering practice.

On September 4, when all the teachers and students had just arrived at Taicang, Professor Wan Xiaopeng, Former Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of NPU, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Zhihui Port, and Director of the Management Committee of Taicang Zhihui Port, came to the scene to extend his welcome to everyone. As an old leader in charge of the school, his cordial care and warm greetings made everyone feel warm and at ease. With the strong support of the Management Committee, the internship started smoothly.

In this cognition practice, QMES fully considered the development needs of students and formulated a detailed and comprehensive itinerary plan, so as to ensure the safety of students and enable the internship to be conducted in an orderly manner. During the internship, the students are encouraged to combine practice activities with professional knowledge, give full play to the practice education of QMES, and nurture their abilities of exploration, observation and innovation, so that students can continue to innovate in learning, accumulate practical experience in innovation, and learn to analyze and solve problems in practice. In the future, QMES will focus on the characteristics of JEI, provide a diversified and international platform, comprehensively improve students' innovative and practice abilities, and cultivate top innovative talents in materials with cultural confidence, patriotism and global competence.
