A Delegation from Xidian University Came to QMES for Investigation
On June 9th, 2023, a delegation from Xidian University came to QMES to conduct exchanges and investigation on the application, construction and management of Sino-foreign cooperative institution. The delegation consisted of 15 people, including Chen Huilin, Dean of the School of International Education of Xidian University, Zhang Yang, Vice Dean of the School of International Education and other representatives from the department of International Cooperation and Exchanges, Undergraduate School, Graduate School, the School of Electronic Engineering, the School of Computer Science and Technology, the School of Mechano-Electronic Engineering, the School of Mathematics and Statistics, the School of Microelectronics, the School of Artificial Intelligence and the School of Economics and Management.
Dai Fuping, Secretary of QMES Party Committee; Cheng Yin, Deputy Secretary of QMES Party Committee; Zhou Yongcun, Assistant to the Dean of QMES; department directors and related personnel participated in the activity. They accompanied the delegation members to visit the innovative laboratories, the Linghang Ideological and Political classroom and office area of QMES. Subsequently, a symposium was held at Conference Room 402, which was presided over by Dai Fuping.
On behalf of QMES, Dai Fuping extended his warm welcome towards Chen Huilin and his delegation. He gave a brief introduction to QMES from the aspects of development status, talents training measures, teaching quality assurance, and talents training results. He also actively shared the characteristic practices of QMES in Party building and ideological and political construction in curriculum. Chen Huilin expressed his gratitude towards QMES for the warm hospitality. He then briefly introduced the development of Xidian University in Sino-foreign cooperative education and overseas education. Then, the both sides conducted in-depth discussions on topics, such as the allocation and management of teachers, the academic management and international development of students, the optimization of education plans and teaching syllabus, and the application process of Sino-foreign cooperative educational institution, etc.
Chen Huilin stated that Xidian University currently had three Sino-foreign cooperative programs on undergraduate education, jointly cultivating international innovative talents in the fields of telecommunication, electronic information and big data management and application with Heriot-Watt University of UK, Polytech Nantes (EPUN) of France and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University of the United States. Through this investigation, it provided the advanced experience and mature practices from QMES, which promotes the further development of Sino-foreign cooperative education at Xidian University. Dai Fuping pointed out that QMES would further develop the school-running characteristics, constantly enhance the education level, expand the fields of Sino-foreign cooperative education, and make contributions to the high-quality development of NPU on educational opening up.
Both parts considered this meeting fruitful and were benefited a lot, which contributes to refresh their working ideas and methods. It was hoped that both universities would further strengthen exchanges and cooperation and jointly endeavor to make new breakthroughs in the field of international educational cooperation.
