QMES and the Institute of Flexible Electronics Co-Organized a “Chief Engineer Culture”-Themed Seminar

On June 12, 2023, QMES and the Party Committee of the Institute of Flexible Electronics worked together to conduct a thematic seminar of learning and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.

The thematic seminar mainly discussed how to play the role of the Student Party Branch as a fighting fortress and the exemplary role of student Party members in the cultivation of “chief engineer” talents. The seminar was presided over by Cheng Yin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of QMES. Wang Fanhua, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Institute of Flexible Electronics, as well as the secretaries of the student Party branches, members of branch committees and full-time counselors of the two units participated in the on-site exchange.

In March 2023, Secretary Li Yanrong emphasized in an interview of China Science Daily, “The division of work and cooperation at all levels and subsystems are extremely important when facing the scientific research tasks of major model and system level, which requires ‘chief engineer culture’’. During the on-site exchange, Cheng Yin led teachers and students who attended the seminar to learn the features and core concepts of the “chief engineer culture” of NPU.

Wang Fanhua conducted a thematic exchange based on the personal learning experience. He stated that “chief engineer culture” is the condensation and sublimation of the “NPU phenomenon”. Subsequently, combined with the historical development of NPU, he briefly analyzed the connotation and characteristics of the “chief engineer culture”, and put forward his own suggestions on how to strengthen the cultivation of “chief engineer” talents in the new journey.

The representatives of teachers and students from the two units talked about their learning experiences actively based on the topic. The majority of student party members said that the wonderful chapter of the story of NPU would continue. It is hoped that the inheritors and practitioners of the new generation of “chief engineer culture” will work hard and make unremitting efforts!
