To enhance students’ understanding of the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality policy and fuel cells, and to cultivate high-quality talent in the emerging field of new productive forces, QMES launched a module titled “Introduction to Fuel Cells” for the spring semester of 2023-2024 academic year. Professor Li Zhipeng from the Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality Science and New Energy Technology Centre at the Institute of Flexible Electronics leads the module. The module builds a comprehensive knowledge system of hydrogen energy, covers the development prospects and market of fuel cells, as well as explains hydrogen energy, hydrogen production, and hydrogen storage technologies.
The module invited Dang Zheng, Associate Professor from Xi’an Jiaotong University, Wang Shaorong, Professor from China University of Mining and Technology, and Chen Kongfa, Professor from Fuzhou University, to deliver lectures on fuel cell simulation, the development and industrialisation of SOEC electrolyzers, and the latest advancements in solid oxide fuel cells.
Through this series of expert lectures, QMES students have gained a deeper understanding of fuel cell technology, as well as a comprehensive awareness of the significance and development trends of new energy technologies under the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality policy. Under the meticulous planning and organisation of Professor Li Zhipeng, the three experts not only shared invaluable knowledge and experience but also ignited the students’ enthusiasm and exploratory spirit towards new energy technologies.
QMES will continue to focus on the international academic forefront of materials science, consistently inviting leading experts and scholars in the field to engage with students. This initiative aims to broaden students’ perspectives and cultivate exceptional leaders who are both innovative and well-versed in the current state and dynamics of the industry.
