To implement the arrangements made at the 2024 NPU Undergraduate Teaching Work Conference and to further promote the orderly commencement of teaching work for the new semester, on the morning of March 8th, QMES convened the 2023-2024 Spring Semester Undergraduate Teaching Affairs Conference. The meeting was attended by Dai Fuping, Secretary of the QMES Party Committee, Wang Yongxin, Vice Dean, and Cheng Yin, Vice Dean, teaching faculty of QMES, heads of various offices, and staff from the Student Affairs Office and Teaching Affairs Office. The meeting was chaired by Wang Yongxin.

During the meeting, Wang Yongxin first conveyed the spirit of the 2024 NPU Undergraduate Teaching Work Conference and provided a detailed analysis and interpretation of the core indicators of the QMES’s goal responsibilities. Subsequently, Wang Yongxin reported on the teaching status of QMES in recent years, analyzing in detail the progress of teaching affairs in various aspects such as curriculum and textbook construction, teaching platforms and teams, major accreditation, internships and practical activities, teaching research and achievements, and enrollment propaganda. He identified shortcomings and arranged the next step of work plans. He stated that QMES will intensify efforts to systematise the construction of professional modules and textbooks, carry out targeted construction of professional laboratories, provide effective guidance for students’ academic planning, leverage the international advantages of QMES, adhere to the overall principle of “strengthening characteristics and building peaks”, and continuously summarise and refine teaching achievements.

Cheng Yin delivered a speech from the perspective of ideological and political education. She proposed that in the new semester, QMES would construct distinctive ideological and political education carriers tailored to the needs of education, solidify student academic guidance work, shape excellent academic and class atmospheres, deeply integrate teaching and student affairs, and work together to achieve good results in ideological and political construction.

Subsequently, the teachers engaged in an exchange and discussion. Based on actual teaching situations and student feedback, everyone put forward guiding suggestions regarding the QMES teaching work. QMES will continue to pay attention to the opinions of the teaching staff and make targeted adjustments and arrangements to relevant work content.

Dai Fuping emphasized in his concluding remarks that the development of QMES cannot be separated from the hard work of every teacher and the strong support of NPU. QMES will continue to provide solid support and guarantee for the teaching work. We hope that all the teachers will keep close contact with QMES, focus on academic achievements, and effectively translate and fully implement the “Chief Engineer Educational Culture” in all aspects of international talent cultivation, to contribute to the development of internationalised professionals.
